Elderly Man Murdered In Borehamwood

A 94 year old man's been brutally killed at his home in Borehamwood.
William George Humphrey, who was known as Bill, was stabbed to death at his house on Brook Road on Tuesday (Feb 2nd) between 3.30pm and midnight. It's thought appears to have happened during a bungled robbery.
A 30 year old man from Borehamwood's now been arrested on suspicion of murder, as well as a series of bag snatches that occurred in the area.
Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Steve Collin, of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in the area around this time. If you saw anything suspicious or anyone behaving suspiciously, please get in contact.
"It is believed that property has gone missing from the victim's home, including a 32 inch television."
